I really liked this blog I came across called NoCostSoftware.  The blogger talks about going into "Windows Rehab" with depending on Ubuntu 8.04 and seems to have had a very good Ubduction experience.

It lists some nice Ubuntu tips and tricks.

Ubuntu is known for it’s ease of use, especially for new users.  That said, it has some minor shortfalls that make it difficult to customize ones computer.  Ubuntu-Tweak comes to the rescue with a nicely organized options to customize your Ubuntu machine.
